With over 30 years’ experience in the creative industry Jan Martin displays excellence in graphic design; brand development; brand usability studies; strategy; concept development; business development; product and business innovation and animal wrangling (hence rare and specific operational management). While nourishing a large, global, multi-cultural network he is a creative out-of-the-box thinker with strong multi layered relationship management and communication skills. And he is arguably the only designer and consultant you will ever encounter who caught elephants in the wild (and published about it); painted the town with actors Burt Reynolds and John Cleese (on separate occasions though); had Julia Roberts lined up for a charity (with a slot at Oprah’s); organised a garden party at Los Angeles’ legendary Chateau Marmont Hotel (for a pharmaceutical client) and he created the famous Lost Boys cactus brand as well as coining the phrase “financiality”.
Jan Martin has thorough knowledge of the horticulture industry; hospitality industry; museum industry and sailing industry. In his spare time he travels the world as president of an international sailing class and as committee member of ISAF’s classes committee. He is one of the co-founders of Over & Beyond. Jan Martin was responsible for a major mind shift in Dutch horticulture by creating the industry’s first true (registered trademark) brand (bypassing the industry’s cornerstone 25-years-max “kwekersrecht”).
